Read the actual image size instantly

This Roblox clothing template size checker opens a local PNG, JPG, or WebP and reports decoded width, height, aspect ratio, file type, and file size. It classifies an exact 585×559 image as a full Classic Clothing canvas, a square image as possible Classic T-shirt artwork, and other rectangles as needing review.

The tool is intentionally fast and narrow. It does not scan every pixel, estimate moderation, or claim that dimensions prove correct template mapping. Use it when an editor, upload form, collaborator, or downloaded file leaves you uncertain about the real canvas size.

Decoded size versus filename

Image dimensions live inside the encoded file. A name such as shirt_585x559.png is only text and can be inaccurate. The browser decodes the image and exposes its natural width and height; those are the values shown here.

Changing .jpg to .png, adding dimensions to a filename, or resizing an HTML preview does not change the encoded pixels. A real conversion requires an image editor or Canvas export. This distinction explains why a file can look correct in a thumbnail while failing a technical requirement.

The 585×559 full canvas

An exact width of 585 and height of 559 matches the complete canvas used by current Classic Shirt and Pants template workflows. The size checker labels it as a full canvas but cannot choose between Shirt and Pants because their outer dimensions are identical.

Internal mapping still matters. Torso, arm, lower-body, and leg surfaces occupy particular rectangles. An ordinary 585×559 photograph does not become clothing merely because its width and height match. Continue to the full clothing checker and then test with a correct rig.

If a file is 559×585, its dimensions are reversed. Rotating it may produce the expected outer orientation, but only if its internal template was also rotated accidentally. Do not rotate mapped artwork without understanding the source.

Square T-shirt artwork

Classic T-shirt graphics use a square image displayed on the torso front rather than a complete wraparound map. This checker labels any square as a possible T-shirt shape and reports its exact dimensions.

The local T-shirt maker exports 512×512 for a predictable working result. Another square may still be useful as source artwork, but verify current publishing requirements and inspect quality after resizing. A very small image enlarged to 512×512 can become blocky or blurry.

A square image is not a Shirt or Pants template. Stretching it to 585×559 only distorts the graphic; it does not create sleeves, back, sides, or leg surfaces.

Aspect ratio and distortion

Aspect ratio is width divided by height. The complete 585×559 canvas has a ratio of about 1.0465, while a square is 1.0000. A ratio far from the intended target indicates cropping, added margins, rotation, or export distortion.

Matching the ratio is not enough. A 1170×1118 image has the same proportions as 585×559 but double the pixel dimensions. It may be possible to downsample once if it contains a correctly scaled full template. A random image with the same ratio still lacks mapping.

Avoid repeated resizes. Each resampling can change edges, colors, and alpha. Keep the highest-quality original and create one intentional target export.

File type and file size

The browser reports the selected file’s declared image MIME type. PNG is usually preferred for Classic Clothing because it preserves alpha and hard edges. JPG normally removes transparency and introduces lossy compression. WebP can retain alpha, but target acceptance should be checked before publishing.

File size measures encoded bytes, not dimensions or quality. A detailed PNG can be larger than a simple one at the same width and height. A small file can still have the wrong canvas, and a large file can still be valid.

This quick checker does not impose a publishing file-size promise. Current platform requirements should be verified separately.

Fixing an incorrect size

Open the clothing resizer when the source arrangement is intact and only output dimensions need correction. Select full Classic Clothing or square T-shirt, then choose contain, cover, or stretch deliberately. Nearest-neighbor scaling suits crisp pixel work; smoothing may suit paintings or photos.

Contain can add transparent margins, cover can crop edges, and stretch can distort proportions. None of them invent missing UV information. Cropped or flattened template work should be repaired from the original source.

After resizing, return to this page to confirm dimensions, then use the full checker for alpha and visible coverage.

A complete verification sequence

First read size and shape here. Second run the specialized Shirt or Pants checker, or the general clothing checker. Third inspect the flat file on checker, light, and dark backgrounds. Finally test with current official Roblox creation tools on an appropriate Block Avatar rig.

This sequence separates different questions: size checker for encoded dimensions, pixel checker for technical content, preview for visible edges, and rig testing for wrapping. No single number replaces all stages.

Local privacy and rights

The selected file is decoded in browser memory and shown through a local Canvas. It is not uploaded, stored in a database, or attached to an account. Closing the page removes the temporary preview and report.

Use files you created or are permitted to inspect and publish. Size compatibility does not grant rights to artwork. SkinEditor.org is independent and is not affiliated with Roblox Corporation.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a full Shirt or Pants image be?

This checker expects 585×559 for the complete Classic Clothing canvas.

Can it tell Shirt from Pants?

No. Their full outer dimensions match, so the internal mapping and intended source must be checked.

Is every square valid T-shirt art?

No. Square is only a shape classification. Quality, rights, and current publishing requirements still matter.

Does checking dimensions upload the file?

No. Decoding and measurement happen locally in the browser.
