Check the real size before editing
Roblox clothing template size depends on the Classic Clothing type. A complete Classic Shirt or Classic Pants working image uses a 585×559 canvas. Classic T-shirt artwork is square and represents a front-torso graphic rather than the unfolded surfaces of a full Shirt or Pants map. Use the local checker above to read the selected file’s actual decoded width, height, aspect ratio, MIME type, and encoded file size.
Dimensions stored inside the image matter. A filename such as shirt-585x559.png is only a label. Browser display width, CSS size, thumbnail size, and screenshot size also do not change the encoded pixels. The size checker decodes the file and reports natural dimensions.
Shirt and Pants: 585×559
The full outer canvas for current Classic Shirt and Pants workflows is 585 pixels wide and 559 pixels high. Its width-to-height ratio is approximately 1.0465. An exact match satisfies the outer size requirement but does not identify which type the file contains.
Shirt and Pants assign internal regions differently. Shirt artwork wraps the torso and arms; Pants artwork covers the lower torso and legs. A file can have perfect dimensions while its pixels use the wrong mapping. That is why the result says “full Classic Clothing canvas” rather than claiming the file is automatically a valid Shirt or Pants.
A 1170×1118 file has the same aspect ratio at double dimensions. It may be possible to downsample a correctly scaled full map once, but ratio alone is insufficient. A random image with matching proportions still lacks UV placement.
T-shirt artwork is square
Classic T-shirt graphics use a square image for a front-torso design. They do not use the full 585×559 wraparound map. The local T-shirt maker uses a 512×512 output for a predictable working result, but current publishing requirements should be checked before upload.
Any square file has a ratio of 1.0000. The size checker calls it a possible T-shirt shape, not guaranteed valid artwork. Resolution, format, quality, rights, and current platform acceptance remain separate questions.
Stretching a square logo to 585×559 does not create a Shirt. It only distorts the logo. Full clothing needs information for multiple body surfaces.
Aspect ratio versus dimensions
Aspect ratio describes proportion, while dimensions describe exact pixel counts. Two images can share a ratio and contain very different amounts of data. An editor may display both at the same screen size even when one is 585×559 and another is 1170×1118.
If the ratio is wrong, the source may have been cropped, rotated, stretched, or exported with extra margins. A 559×585 result has reversed orientation. Rotating may restore the outside shape only if the internal mapped artwork was accidentally rotated too.
Do not crop transparent margins merely to reduce file size. In mapped artwork, transparent space can preserve coordinate positions.
File size is not canvas size
Encoded file size in KB or MB depends on compression, color complexity, metadata, and format. Two 585×559 PNG files can have very different byte sizes. A one-color image compresses efficiently; detailed noise and many colors require more data.
A small byte size does not prove correct dimensions or quality. A large byte size does not prove high resolution. Treat decoded pixels and encoded bytes as different measurements.
The checker reports MIME from the selected browser file. PNG usually suits Classic Clothing because it preserves alpha and crisp edges. JPG normally removes transparency and adds lossy variations. WebP can preserve alpha, but verify current target acceptance rather than assuming every browser format is publishable.
Resize only an intact source
Use the local resizer when the complete mapped arrangement is present and only output dimensions are wrong. Choose the intended target deliberately. Contain preserves the whole source but may add transparent margins. Cover fills the target but may crop. Stretch forces dimensions and can distort proportions.
Nearest-neighbor resampling preserves hard pixel blocks. Smooth interpolation blends colors and may suit painted artwork, but can soften text, borders, and one-pixel seams. Return to the original source and resize once. Repeated scaling cannot restore detail lost earlier.
If a screenshot or crop has removed mapped regions, no resize mode can reconstruct them. Find the original project or rebuild the missing surfaces.
Complete the validation chain
First use this size checker to identify width, height, ratio, format, and bytes. Second use the Shirt, Pants, or general clothing checker for alpha and visible coverage. Third inspect at high zoom on multiple backgrounds. Finally wrap the artwork in current official Roblox creation tools on an appropriate rig.
Dimensions are a necessary technical signal, not proof of visual quality, ownership, moderation, eligibility, fees, or Marketplace acceptance. Current official information takes priority.
