Privacy Policy

How SkinEditor.org handles local files, browser storage, analytics, advertising, and contact requests.

Last updated: 2026-07-17

Overview

SkinEditor.org is an anonymous, local-first editing website. We do not offer user accounts, cloud projects, subscriptions, payments, or a public skin gallery. This policy explains the limited information involved when you use the site.

Files and artwork

The live editor processes supported image files in your browser. Drawing, erasing, undo history, draft recovery, and PNG export happen on your device. The editor does not send image pixels, filenames, selected colors, or drafts to a SkinEditor.org upload API.

You should still avoid opening confidential files on a shared or untrusted device. Browser extensions, device administrators, network software, or other software outside our control may have their own access capabilities.

Local browser storage

The editor may use localStorage or IndexedDB to keep an anonymous draft and tool preferences on your device. This information is not synchronized to an account. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser. Removing browser data may permanently delete local drafts.

The language selector may use a locale cookie. Analytics cookies and local editor storage are separate from local skin drafts; the site does not place skin artwork in analytics cookies.

Server logs

Our hosting provider may process standard request data needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser information, and security signals. We use this data for operation, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and security. We do not intentionally place skin pixels or local draft contents in server logs.

Google Analytics and advertising

The site loads Google Analytics 4 using measurement ID G-5SS9SRGMME when a page opens. The current integration measures page views and navigation so that we can understand which public tools are used. It does not send uploaded images, filenames, draft contents, selected colors, or image pixels as analytics events. Google may process normal analytics information such as the page URL, referrer, browser or device details, approximate location derived from network information, and interaction timing under Google's own terms and privacy policy.

The integration disables Google Signals and ad-personalization signals. The site does not currently load an advertising platform. Third-party providers process data under their own policies.

Children

The site is a general creative tool and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not ask users to provide an age, name, email address, or account profile to use the local editor. Advertising and analytics settings must be reviewed for applicable child and teen protections before production use.

Your choices

You can:

  • Use the editor without creating an account.
  • Use browser cookie controls or a content blocker to limit analytics requests, subject to browser and site behavior.
  • Clear local drafts and preferences through browser site-data controls.
  • Use browser privacy settings or content blockers, subject to site functionality.
  • Contact us about a privacy request through the contact details published on the website.

Changes

We may update this policy when tools, hosting, analytics, advertising, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes should be reflected before the related feature is enabled.
