Separate preparation from account publication
Uploading Roblox Clothing is an account and platform action. This page does not request credentials, call a publication API, or claim to replace current official creator tools. It provides a local preflight checklist so the final file, evidence, and rights review are organized before the official action begins.
Platform interfaces, eligibility, fees, supported categories, and moderation rules can change. Consult current official creator documentation immediately before publication. Treat any static sequence of button names as temporary rather than universal.
Identify the asset category
Confirm whether the file is a Classic Shirt, Classic Pants, or Classic T-shirt. Shirt and Pants can share a 585×559 outside size but map to different intended surfaces. A T-shirt is a square front graphic. Selecting the wrong category cannot be repaired by renaming the file.
If the project is Layered Clothing, stop and use a workflow designed for meshes, cages, rigging, deformation, and platform validation. A two-dimensional Classic Clothing checker cannot certify a three-dimensional garment.
The How to make Roblox clothes guide explains the type split. Type-specific guides cover making a Shirt, making Pants, and making a T-shirt.
Inspect the decoded file
Reopen the exact final PNG from disk. Do not review only the editor canvas or a preview screenshot. Confirm that the image decodes, dimensions match the intended workflow, alpha behaves correctly, and the file is not a JPEG with a renamed extension.
Use the Roblox Clothing Checker for a general technical report. Use the Shirt or Pants checker when the category is already known. These tools run locally and inspect evidence; they do not transmit the image or guarantee platform acceptance.
Avoid repeated resizing. If dimensions are wrong, return to the layered source and export a fresh target file. Stretching can alter proportions, soften edges, and introduce partial-alpha pixels.
Remove every non-artwork layer
Planning labels, colored UV regions, safe-zone overlays, measurement lines, notes, and checker marks are real pixels when exported. Hide them and reopen the PNG on checker, light, and dark backgrounds.
Check for an accidental white or colored background. Inspect collars, cuffs, waist, shoe edges, logos, and text for halos. A valid file size does not prove that guides are absent.
Review mapping and seams
Preview every relevant surface. Shirt review should include torso front and back, sides, shoulders, both sleeves, interiors, and cuffs. Pants review should include waist, front and back legs, inner and outer faces, cuffs, shoes, heels, and soles.
Use Roblox Clothing Preview for a neutral R6/R15 approximation and Roblox Clothing Template Tester for a repeatable seam-focused state report. Browser rendering is diagnostic evidence, not a substitute for authorized platform testing.
When Shirt and Pants form a set, inspect them together in the Roblox Outfit Maker. Confirm the waist transition, palette, pattern scale, and shading.
Verify rights and content
Confirm that you own the work or have permission to publish every included element. Check logos, characters, photographs, uniforms, typefaces, and commissioned assets. Keep licenses or written permission with the project record.
Technical tools cannot determine copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or platform-policy compliance. A perfectly decoded PNG may still be rejected or create legal risk.
Do not upload another creator’s item merely because it is publicly visible. Public access is not a publishing license.
Check current official requirements
Immediately before the official action, verify current documentation for creator eligibility, applicable fees, supported formats and dimensions, naming, interface location, testing options, and moderation policy. Use the official domain and authenticated platform interface.
Never enter a password, session token, cookie, or recovery code into an unrelated clothing utility. SkinEditor.org does not need those values and cannot publish for the user.
If current instructions conflict with an old tutorial, follow the current official source. Record the review date in the project notes.
Create a handoff record
Use the checklist above to record six preflight stages. Downloading the report creates a local JSON file containing the preset, completed steps, generation time, and a boundary statement. It contains no pixels, filename, account identifier, fee data, or credential.
Pair the report with the layered source, final PNG, checker output, rig screenshots, rights evidence, and current-documentation review date. This package helps a collaborator understand what was verified without claiming approval.
Handle a failed attempt methodically
If the official interface rejects a file, preserve the exact message and time. Separate file decoding, dimension, alpha, category, eligibility, rights, moderation, and temporary service issues. Do not repeatedly resize or rename the image without identifying the failure class.
The Roblox Shirt not uploading guide organizes common evidence. Moderation and appearance problems have separate troubleshooting pages because they require different responses.
Privacy and security
All preflight tools described here keep selected images in browser memory. The checklist does not use an upload endpoint, account, session, or business database. Downloads are created with temporary local object URLs.
Use official platform tools for authenticated actions and protect the account with current security practices. This independent guide cannot see or recover an account.
Frequently asked questions
Can this page upload clothing for me?
No. It prepares evidence; official tools perform account publication.
Does a passing checker guarantee acceptance?
No. It reports local technical evidence and cannot certify rights, eligibility, policy, or moderation.
Why does the guide avoid exact button names?
Platform interfaces change. Current official documentation is the authoritative source for the live sequence.
Does the JSON report contain my image?
No. It contains only checklist state and diagnostic metadata.
